Literature Text

I looked in a mirror, see?
To see what I would see, see?
But what I saw surprised me,
My reflection was a bee!

At first I was disappointed,
That’s all I’d ever be?
But I looked at my stinger, pointed,
And began to truly see.

Others run away from me,
That’s ok, they’re annoying too.
The hive’ll back this bee,
So don’t mess, foo’!

Other beasts are dumber,
They can’t tell a flower from a bean.
I’ll allow the boys in summer,
‘Cos yah, I’m the queen!

Flowers often interest me,
Say good eats and I’m there!
Only a spider can scare a bee!
But I can flee with flair!

I look at the mirror again,
Surprised! And woe be I!
Wonder if I’m insane.
For now, I’d rather die.

My reflection is me,
I’d rather not see,
Me as being me,
And not a wondrous bee
